I have gone thru a serious change in my life, divorcing after 20 years of marriage, lost my job and many close friends from the fallout of the divorce, my only child is off for good and for the first time in my life I am alone. I am looking for something "wow" for my 5oth birthday... I have a new job, travel extensively, but am having trouble finding a great spa to go to by myself for 3-4 days either, USA, Mexico or Carribean. Any suggestions?

This May I was in Istanbul and I highly recommend a stay at Swissotel the Bosphorus, Istanbul where you can lose yourself in the sights and the nightlife and find yourself again in the new Amrita Spa. The new rooftop bar gives you a splendid way to watch the sunset over the sea and the city. The May weather was warm but not oppressive.

I have two families of 4 who are interested in staying at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya and I wanted to know what ages were permitted in the adults-only restaurants since the children are ages 17, 18, 19 and 20. Also, when was this property built?

Thank you for your question.  I am sure there are many people interested in this answer.  Grand Velas Riviera Maya was built in 2008.  The new spa is fantastic!  Bistro and the Sky Bar offer Adult's Only hospitality and the minimum age is 19.  There are several other dining options for your entire family.  May we suggest more for you?
